Armenian Bar Association Files Amicus Brief in MASSACHUSETTS Litigation

THE ARMENIAN BAR TAKES ACTION

In late 2005, a lawsuit was brought in the United States District Court of Massachusetts alleging that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts improperly excluded from its curriculum on Genocide and Human Rights references sources that espoused the view denying the Armenian Genocide. With the Attorney General of Massachusetts acting on behalf of the defendant Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Armenian Bar Association filed an amicus brief in support of Defendant’s motion to dismiss. Joining the Armenian Bar were the Armenian National Committee, the Irish Immigration Center, the Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action and the NAACP. The Armenian Bar Association, with utmost gratitude, thanks the prominent law firm of WilmerHale for its outstanding work in representing the Armenian Bar, on a pro bono basis, on this matter. Attached are links to the amicus brief, as well as to the Armenian Bar Association’s motion for leave to file such brief.
