The month of June, traditionally the most sought after month of the year for weddings, was utilized by the Armenian Bar Association as an opportunity to solidify its union with the Armenian Church. In consecutive weeks, Board members and leaders of ArmenBar met with Archbishop Hovnan Derderian Primate of the Western Diocese and Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian Prelate of the Western Prelacy.

Glendale, California-Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca and Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian, were the guests of honor as the Armenian Bar Association hosted a reception at the elegant Phoenicia Restaurant on Thursday, June 24, 2010. Nationally-acclaimed attorney Garo Mardirossian, Chairman of the Consumer Attorneys’ Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), was on hand to introduce Mayor Najarian, and Steve Simonian, Mayor of La Habra, introduced Sheriff Baca.

Samuel Der-Yeghiayan, the first Armenian immigrant to be appointed to the federal bench in the United States, received a rousing ovation from over 100 legal scholars, judges, law professors, lawyers and law students from the United States and Canada, as he was the keynote speaker at the Armenian Bar Association’s 21st Annual National Meeting on May 15, 2010 in Chicago, Illinois.

Los Angeles, California–The "Jo-Ann Grace Roast" presented by the Italian American Bar Association (IALA) turned out to be a multi-cultural affair, as several ArmenBar members joined their Italian brethren in honoring a leader in the legal community, and candidate for the California State Bar Board of Governors. Over 200 people packed the Casa Italiana restaurant near the Chinatown area of Downtown Los Angeles to honor Jo-Ann Grace, Co-Publisher of the Metropolitan News-Enterprise.

Glendale, California-Trendy nightclub Minx, located in the hub of the Armenian community in Glendale, served as the venue as the Armenian Bar Association held a social networking event in conjunction with the USC Armenian Alumni Association, on March 23, 2010. Over 300 members and friends of the two associations attended the function which served as an opportunity to network and renew friendships.

The Armenian Bar Association (ArmenBar) made a triumphant return to Canada for its Mid-year meeting, on the weekend of October 2-4, 2009 in Toronto. The meeting was be held at the elegant Hilton Hotel, and marked only the third time in ArmenBar’s history that it has held a meeting in Canada. Vartkes Yeghiayan, respected attorney, author and the architect of the New York Life and other Genocide reparation cases, was be the keynote luncheon speaker.

Glendale, California-Newly elected Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich was the guest of honor as the Armenian Bar Association (ArmenBar) hosted a reception at the elegant Phoenicia Restaurant on October 21, 2009. Also recognized were a new crop of attorneys of Armenian descent recently admitted to the California State Bar. Over 120 judges, lawyers, law students and members of the public were in attendance.
