ARMENIAN BAR ASSOCIATION PARTICIPATES IN THIRD ANNUAL GRADUATE PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING FORUM AT UCLA, MAY 17, 2010 IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
Los Angeles, California-Chairman Edvin Minassian, Treasurer Sara Bedirian and Armenia Watch Rights Committee Chairman, Saro Kerkonian, were on hand to meet, greet and encourage law students and graduate students at the University of California at Los Angeles, Kerckhoff Hall, in the magnificent Charles E. Young Grand Salon on May 17, 2010.
Approximately forty organizations and companies representing various industries participated in the business forum intending to offer graduate professionals an opportunity to network and meet and communicate with successful Armenian-Americans from the various organizations and major national companies. The forum is intended to enable graduate students to learn about post-graduate community involvement in various organizations tailored to professional interests and goals. The forum was open to everyone and wine and food was served.
Also in attendance were Professor Richard Hovannessian, Chair of the Armenian History Department at UCLA, who was busy greeting students and talking with the graduate students. Also on hand was ArmenBar member, Raffi Kassabian, who is a business litigation associate of law firm of Lurie & Park. "The graduate students seem optimistic and energetic and interested in making connections," said Kassabian, who is also a past Executive Officer of the AGSA. Ardashes Kassakian, Clerk of the City of Glendale, was also busy meeting and greeting the crowd of graduate students interested in locating positions within local municipalities.
"The event was well received and has allowed graduate students to interact and network with established professionals in the community,” said Andrew Behesnilian, current Executive Officer of the AGSA at UCLA. All the professionals and organizations who were present at the forum graciously donated their time to be a part of the event.
